North Dakota Photo Album

These first three pictures show just how incredibly FLAT North Dakota is (flat and treeless).

This is where I spend most of my weekends, at a local state park (and hey, look, real trees!)

What's the weather like in North Dakota today?

Wind chill is a HUGE issue in North Dakota. For those of you who live in warmer climates and aren't familiar with "wind chill", it is the opposite of heat index-- it's how cold it feels due to the chilling power of the wind. And on the Great Plains, the wind is always blowing. So, on a day that it gets down below 0, the wind chill can make it feel 20 degrees colder (or more)!

To see how it works, try this "wind chill calculator".
